This monthI, plan on celebrating our nation's birthday with the Austin Symphony Orchestra at Circuit of The Americas (COTA)! There will be old-fashioned July 4th holiday activities including interactive games and contests for the whole family, starting at 4:00 p.m. The orchestra will perform at 8:30 p.m., followed by "mile-high" fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public! For a purely experiential art exhibit, visit The Color Inside, located on the rooftop of the University of Texas Student Activity Center. The permanent installation, by internationally renowned light and space artist James Turrell, is part of the University's public arts program, Landmarks. Admission is free, although reservations are recommended. Prime viewing times are sunrise and sunset. See the beautiful Austin summer sky in a truly unique way! The Couples Triathlon on July 13. It takes two to complete this local sprint triathlon. Divisions include friends, more than friends, parent/child, siblings and mostly strangers. Cheer on our local Austin tennis pros! The 2014 Inaugural Mylan World Team Tennis season for the Austin Aces is almost here. The Aces will compete for the chance to bring the King Trophy to Austin for the first time, and their top- notch roster is sure to create some great competition. Marquee players, Austin-adored and former world No. 1 Andy Roddick and 2013 Wimbledon Champion Marion Bartoli will not miss a single home match at the state-of-the-art Cedar Park Center.They will be joined by former No. 2 Vera Zvonareva and doubles-extraordinaires Treat Huey and Eva Hrdinova.
