South Congress Avenue is one of my favorite places to spend time in Austin. To really feel like an Austin Insider, simply call this vibrant stretch of roadSoCo. Here are some of my favorite places to hang out:

South Congress Cafe I like to start my visit with a late lunch at South Congress Caf. Great atmosphere, good people watching and a fun place to hang out with clients and friends! Take advantage of their all-day brunch menu. Menu must-haves include tasting the infused bloody mary, carrot cake French toast and their famous migas.

Allens Boots

I love my boots from Allen's!

Allen's Boots Look for the big red boot to find this iconic Austin institution, because as Allen's promotes themselves, "they know their boots." Maybe you will even bump into a celebrity buying some boots too. I recently treated myself to a pair!

Maya Star MayaStar is a fun store for women, featuring distinctly unique and constantly changing selection of clothing and jewelry. Whenever I travel to Austin, I make sure I stop and buy my wife something fun. It never disappoints!

Parts & Labour Parts & Labour is an eclectic store with great Austin t-shirts and accessories. I particularly enjoy browsing their concert poster section to see if any worthy of adding to my personal collection. Plus my daughters, Gillian & Tallula, love the shirts I bought them.

Hotel San Jose I finish my afternoon with a stop at Hotel San Jose's beautiful, secluded outdoor lounge. I enjoy a Shiner Bock or my favorite of their specialty drinks, the Champassion, which is Champagne with passion fruit juice.

In Austin, we are fortunate to have several different entertainment districts and one of my favorites is SoCo. Hope you get a chance to check it out the next time you are in Austin.
