Equal part Honky Tonk, equal part Rock'n'Roll with a dash of rockabilly garnished with clever songwriting and delivered in a seductive, lounge kind of way pretty much sums up Beth Lee and her backup compadres, The Breakups.

Coming from a musical family out of Houston, her dad actually used to fill in as the bassist of the Breakups, Beth Lee knew from her early childhood what her calling was. After moving to Austin, establishing herself as a rootsy chanteuse and garnering rave reviews, as in “keep an ear peeled (Rob Patterson in Texas Music magazine), she started releasing albums. “Cassette Tapes and Cash Money was followed by “One More Time Again and her newest “Keep Your Mouth Shut.

Even though deeply rooted in the endless traditions of Americana, there is no nostalgic to her sassy delivery and contemporary approach to leading her four piece. And if it sounds like a meandering snake on a shuffle winder through the desert (title track) or upbeat like a road trip (“Drivin') it will keep your feet busy and thirsting for more.
