Please join us for SouthPop’s 2016-2017 Fundraising Gala. Meet us at Threadgills South at 7:09pm the evening of Sunday, October 23rd to have dinner with one of our good friends and share stories about Austin back in the day! All proceeds for the event will go to help further SouthPop’s mission to collect, conserve, and exhibit the visual art and ephemera from Austin’s Live Music scene for generations to come. In order to maintain this work, we are in need of collection supplies and staff support, and for this, we need YOUR help.

If you joined us last year, we’d love to have you again. Some of our Armadillos from last year will be returning so you can choose to keep the conversation going, or you can join with new Austin celebrities who have all new stories to share!

Please click the link here to purchase your tickets. You’ll be able to reserve seats with the Armadillo you’d like to share your evening with for $125.00 a plate. There are only 10 seats available at each table, so be sure to buy your tickets early!

The funds raised from the evening will go to SouthPop, a registered 501(c)3 to help ensure the preservation and sharing of Austin’s Live Music History and its impact on local, national, and international culture. We are in need of conservation supplies including expanded storage that will protect against disaster; Austin’s now regular flooding, potential fire, and critters. We plan to begin a collections management project to tag and archive every item in our collection to make access and research on Austin’s unique culture easier not only for researchers, but for exhibit preparations as well. And of course, we seek to support the few staff who generously donate their time and energy beyond their pay to help keep SouthPop running and our events fun for all.

SouthPop works hard to preserve a valuable part of Austin’s history in a time where the city and its culture is rapidly changing. We couldn’t do any of it without YOUR support, and we need your help to continue serving you and the community.
