Atomic acoustic guitarist Josh Alan just released his first album in 15 years, Sixty, Goddammit, currently topping a few Texas blues charts. The albums that came before were Josh Alan Band, Blacks ’n’ Jews, The Worst! (an Ed Wood musical), and Famous & Poor. He won Best Acoustic Act in the Dallas Observer three times. As a writer in a separate universe (under his full name Josh Alan Friedman), he wrote the legendary Tales of Times Square (1986), still in print through many editions, Warts And All and Persons Living or Dead (with cartoonist/brother Drew Friedman), I, Goldstein (with Al Goldstein), Black Cracker, and Tell the Truth Until They Bleed (with the notorious profile of Keith Ferguson). Josh now weaves mind-fucking stories into his set.
