The Austin Traditional Jazz Society is thrilled to bring back, The Dirty River Dixie Band. Hailing from San Antonio, the band members originally met at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin where they studied music. Since their college days, the band has performed at a number of Central Texas venues such as: Sam’s Burger Joint, The Esquire Tavern, Luna Jazz Club, Bar 1919, Boardwalk Bistro, The Cove, The Texas Theater, and many others. They have also been featured at various music festivals such as: San Antonio Oyster Bake, Deco District Art and Music Fest, and numerous events at San Antonio’s historic Market Square. The band’s sound closely emulates the Jim Cullum Jazz Band who has helped mentor the members of the band. The Dirty River Dixie Band was a big hit when they played for ATJS at Cap City for their first time last year.

Come and see the fun at Cap City Comedy Club, 8120 Research Boulevard, from 2 – 5 pm on Sunday, October 16. Concert admission: ATJS members, free by showing Yellow 2016-17 membership card. Guests and the public are invited to attend — $10.00 cover. Students with ID, $5.00.
