The Austin Traditional Jazz Society is thrilled to bringback, The Dirty River Dixie Band. Hailing from San Antonio, the band members originally met at TexasLutheran University in Seguin where they studied music. Since their collegedays, the band has performed at a number of Central Texas venues such as: Sam’sBurger Joint, The Esquire Tavern, Luna Jazz Club, Bar 1919, Boardwalk Bistro,The Cove, The Texas Theater, and many others. They have also been featured atvarious music festivals such as: San Antonio Oyster Bake, Deco District Art andMusic Fest, and numerous events at San Antonio’s historic Market Square. Theband’s sound closely emulates the Jim Cullum Jazz Band who has helped mentorthe members of the band. The Dirty River Dixie Band was a big hit when theyplayed for ATJS at Cap City for their first time last year.

Come and see the funat Cap City Comedy Club, 8120 Research Boulevard, from 2 – 5 pm on Sunday,October 16. Concert admission: ATJS members, free by showing Yellow 2016-17 membership card. Guests and thepublic are invited to attend — $10.00 cover. Students with ID, $5.00.

Cap City features good food, full bar, (suggested minimum: 2items, food or drink), 2 dance floors,and ample free parking. The hall holds up to 350 people — lots of room for all!ATJS concerts are family friendly.
