Press Trip Request Form
Journalist Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in Austin. The Austin CVB hosts press trips for qualified media on assignment, with a minimum of three weeks advance notice. Please note the following blackout dates:
2012
Jan. 27- Feb. 1
Feb. 5-10
Mar. 9-18. Austin CVB does not host press trips during SXSW. To obtain credentials for SXSW, please visit www.sxsw.com/press.
Apr. 27-29
June 7-15
July 1-5
Oct. 12-14 Austin CVB does not host media trips during the Austin City Limits Music Festival. To obtain credentials for the 2012 ACL Festival, fill out the application at http://www.aclfestival.com/about-acl-festival/press.
Oct. 26-28
Nov. 15-19, Austin CVB does not host media trips during the 2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. For more information, visit: http://circuitoftheamericas.com
Dec. 22-31
ACVB press trip guidelines:
- ACVB does not cover air travel to Austin, or ground transportation within Austin.
- ACVB may not be able to accommodate spouses, children and/or visitors accompanying journalists. ACVB policy prohibits the hosting of journalists if the primary purpose of the trip is leisure or holiday travel.
- Complimentary stays are provided at the discretion of the host hotels and are subject to availability. ACVB is not able to request complimentary accommodations or amenities with less than three weeks notice of your arrival.
- Meals accompanied by an Austin CVB staff member will be covered, but all visiting press should plan to pay for some portion of the visit.
Having read the above, please complete our press trip request form and email the following additional materials to media@austintexas.org:
- documentation of a minimum total viewership of 75,000 (the audience of one outlet, or several – only for journalists requesting comp accommodations)
- Letter of assignment on outlet letterhead, with info on demographics, circulation, and intended scope of coverage
