Austin CVB Launches The Austin iTinerary Mobile Application
The Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau (Austin CVB) has launched a new mobile application that serves as an interactive site itinerary and destination management tool for meeting planners, event attendees and clients considering Austin as a meeting or event destination. Aptly named The Austin iTinerary, the application invites users to download their site visit or group schedule, track appointments, get in touch with venue contacts, view maps, and add comments to each item for future reference. USA Volleyball Scores for Austin
The Austin Sports Commission, a division of the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, announced today that USA Volleyball has selected Austin to host its signature annual boys’ youth national championship event, the USA Junior Olympic Boys’ Volleyball Championships, at the Austin Convention Center from June 30-July 7, 2010. Austin Hosts Tradeshow for International SPA Association
Unwind. Renew. Simplify. Making its way to the Live Music Capital of the World® is the International SPA Association’s 19th annual ISPA Conference & Expo, Oct. 5 – 8. The Hilton Austin and Austin Convention Center play host to the 1,800 leading spa professionals, projected to leave behind $1.7 million in estimated visitor spending. (more)
Innovations in Interactive Design Highlight HOW Design Conference Sessions, Retail Show and Events Open to Public, June 24-27
Continually ranked among the top U.S. cities for technology, business and creative innovation, Austin is about to welcome another big name in independent and interactive design. The HOW Design Conference, sponsored by HOW Magazine, the creative and business resource for graphic designers, takes place in Austin from June 24-27 at the Austin Convention Center. ASHHRA Brings Dollars, Good Deeds to Austin
Some 1,200 members of the American Society for Healthcare & Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) meet in Austin from Oct. 12-14, generating nearly $3 million for the Austin economy. But the group’s impact is more than economic. During their meeting, ASHHRA is raising funds for and making a significant monetary donation to Sammy’s House, a local, non-profit organization that provides daycare services for medically fragile and developmentally delayed children. Texas Democrats Generate Millions for Austin
They call Austin “the little blue dot in the big red state.” This weekend, Texas’ Capital City will be bluer than ever as the Texas Democratic Party returns to the Austin Convention Center for the Democratic State Convention. The convention, June 7-8, is poised to welcome a record 15,000 attendees – 50 percent more than previous years, which involved around 10,000 participants – and generate an estimated $15.3 million in economic impact for the city. Customer Advisory Board Reviews Austin’s Sales Efforts
Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently hosted the second meeting of the Bureau’s Customer Advisory Board (CAB), a group of industry leaders representing associations and meeting management firms from across the country. The 25-member board met at the Hyatt Regency Austin to provide critical feedback and insight relating to the city's development as a premier meetings and convention destination. (more)
NAMM Returns to Austin
Summer Show Brings Encore Performance
NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, returns to the Austin Convention Center for Summer NAMM, July 27-29. The annual conference and trade show brings some 12,000 attendees to Austin and could generate an estimated $14 million in economic impact. (more)
