Driskill Hotel Wins 2010 Batini Contest
AUSTIN, TX-Like the city itself, Austin's new signature cocktail is cool, colorful and easy to enjoy. The Driskill Hotel's "The Brazos Brasiliensis Batini" uses local ingredients and unique presentation – it's garnished with a hibiscus flower and blackberry to resemble a bat – to capture the flavors of Austin and celebrate the city's most unique attraction, the 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats that fly from the Congress Avenue Bridge each night. Austin CVB Launches The Austin iTinerary Mobile Application
The Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau (Austin CVB) has launched a new mobile application that serves as an interactive site itinerary and destination management tool for meeting planners, event attendees and clients considering Austin as a meeting or event destination. Aptly named The Austin iTinerary, the application invites users to download their site visit or group schedule, track appointments, get in touch with venue contacts, view maps, and add comments to each item for future reference. Austin CVB Joins Forces with ARES Travel Network
The Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau is partnering with Advanced Reservation Systems, Inc. (ARES), a travel booking and packaging program that offers a one-stop shopping experience for travelers. A number of convention and visitors bureaus, including San Diego, Phoenix and Baltimore, are turning to ARES and thus benefiting travel decision makers. The new feature on AustinTexas.org allows visitors to plan and book a trip all in one place, from the hotel to the airfare and car rental, making the reservation process more convenient. (more)

AustinTexas.org, the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau’s official destination website, has been nominated for a 2009 Webby Award, in the Tourism category. Finalists Announced in Inaugural Austin Song Contest
Starting today, Austin music fans across the globe are invited to vote for one of five finalists to win the inaugural Austin Song Contest.
