Going for the Green
The April 2006 issue of Time magazine mentions Austin as one of three environmentally aware and politically active towns, emphasizing the city council decision to abandon the construction of a coal power plant in favor of renewable energy. One of the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau's important markets is environmental groups. This spring, American Waterworks, The Nature Conservancy and the Texas Commission on Environmental Equality are among the groups holding annual meetings in the Austin Convention Center and local hotels. Austin's reputation as an environmentally and socially conscious city enhances its image nationally as ACVB works to bring more "green" meetings here.

Men's Journal (April 2006)
"The Best of the Best"

Food Finds
Southern Living (April 2006)
Uchi, Guero's Taco Bar, Ranch 616, the Driskill Grill and Jeffrey's were highlighted in this monthly feature. "Tiny, inexpensive dishes fly, rapid-fire, out of chef Tyson Cole's kitchen and pack a big, Texas-size taste wallop [at Uchi]."
City Guide
concierge.com (March 2006)
This online affiliate of Conde Nast Traveler has launched an Austin city guide showcasing the best of Austin. The tell-all guide suggests dining spots, recreational activities and accommodations. "Austin loves its live music. Even though clubs around the country have long since shifted to DJs, Austin has remained true to its roots. And no time is as rootsy, as rowdy, or as invigorating as when the two major music festivals roll into town." Read More
