National Sales Missions Target Up-and-Coming Planners
In order to connect with the next generation of meeting planners and association executives, Austin CVB hosted dynamic client events in Chicago and Washington, DC in March. These sales missions were designed to engage up-and-coming planners and encourage them to invest in Austin as a premier meetings destination. Attendees participated in "speed selling," which offered a quick and comprehensive understanding of the city, discovered Austin's eclectic character, discussed amenities with partner hotels and resorts, and experienced live music from local indie-rock buzz band The Black and White Years.
"In an increasingly fast-paced work environment, time well spent is critically important to our clients. The industry's up-and-coming meeting professionals want concise facts about all that a destination has to offer, in a fun, non-pressured environment," says Roy Benear, Senior Vice President of Austin CVB. "Live music combined with the 'speed selling' concept are strategies we've designed for this event to showcase the destination and offer pointed information in a fun, up-tempo environment that only Austin can provide."
