To meet the increased demand for Austin as a meetings and conventions destination and to accommodate the changing marketplace, Austin CVB has completed a redeployment of the convention sales team. President and CEO Bob Lander announced the hiring of Rob Hampton as vice president of sales. Hampton, who starts on December 11, served in the same capacity with the Jacksonville, Florida CVB, where he led the sales team to record production. Throughout his career, Hampton has been actively involved with industry associations such as PCMA, ASAE, and MPI by serving on an array of committees and becoming a leader in the meetings industry.
