Austin CVB Launches "Austin Now Playing"
Austin CVB's new advertising campaign, "Austin Now Playing," capitalizes on the city's reputation as a vibrant, 24-hour city where there's always something happening. The campaign takes Austin's recognized musical character and extends the message into meetings and conventions, outdoor activities, film festivals and culinary events. It is designed to capture the lively essence of the city - no matter when visitors arrive - with its wealth of distinct music, shopping, restaurants, sports and recreation. The campaign imagery centers on a neon Austin marquee. Such icons as a Texas longhorn, bluebonnet, guitar and folklorico dancer surround the marquee.
CVB Exhibits at Home and Abroad
Austin CVB exhibited at Southwest Showcase last week at the Austin Convention Center. The Bureau provided live music and destination information in a tradeshow booth, as well as sponsoring a client reception. The conference is the largest gathering of association, meeting and exhibition professionals in the Southwest.

Musically Inclined
Toronto Star (November 4, 2006)

Spectacular Spa Resorts
Corporate & Incentive Travel (November 2006)
"Any good meeting plan starts with a list of objectives. When one of those objectives is to ensure that attendees return to the job refreshed, rejuvenated and raring to get back to work, it's time to resort to a spa. A spa resort, that is. ...At the 25,000-square-foot Lakehouse Spa at Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, TX, men can indulge in a "Manmade Facial" or "MANicure." The exclusive lakefront resort features 40 guest rooms and can accommodate up to 30 attendees for an exclusive retreat."
