CVB Hits the Road to "Party With A Purpose"



Austin CVB recently visited Seattle to attend the Professional Convention Management Association's (PCMA) 2008 Annual Meeting, the largest gathering of industry professionals. In addition to attending education sessions and discussions, sales staff met with planners and hospitality partners to market Austin among associations from across the nation.

As the first official music sponsor of the popular "Party with a Purpose," the Bureau brought the city's vibrant nightlife to the conference. Sponsorship of the event was geared toward raising awareness of Austin as a unique convention destination. More than one thousand meeting professionals and industry partners were invited to mingle and network as they rock out to 80s greats performed by the Austin-based Spazmatics.

Proceeds from the 2008 Party With a Purpose benefit The Moyer Foundation's Camp Erin, a nationwide network of bereavement camps designed for children ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Party With a Purpose also supports the PCMA Education Foundation and PCMA's Network for the Needy®.
