Spotlight on: Hyatt Lost Pines Resort & Spa

The highly anticipated Hyatt Lost Pines Resort & Spa officially opened yesterday in grand style. This property features guestrooms offering state-of-the-art amenities, golf, a full service spa, and such activities as hot air balloon rides and canoe trips on the Lower Colorado River. Eight food and beverage venues provide fine and casual dining.
A prime destination resort for meetings, Hyatt Lost Pines features 11 meeting rooms containing more than 60,000 square feet of function space. An additional 200,000 square feet of event space is available outdoors. Advanced audio-visual capabilities throughout the property allow for spectacular presentations, and specialized meetings concierge services add a personal touch.
Lost Pines creates a true getaway among the trees. The resort's design carefully integrates the buildings into its natural setting with respect for the rich history of the land. On-site outdoor activities include the Wolfdancer golf course by legendary course designer Arthur Hills, a lavish water park with three pools and rafting or kayaking on the Colorado River, as well as equestrian, hiking and biking trails.
At Spa Django, traditional treatments focus on healing through touch, but true to the area's reputation, the spa also incorporates a musical theme. Named for famed guitarist Django Reinhardt, it focuses on music and movement with yoga, Pilates and Gypsy dance classes accompanied by carefully selected music.

Destination Texas
Southwest Airlines Spirit (April 2006)
"The State Capitol. The University of Texas. The Live Music Capital of the World. However you know Austin, you know you love it. Full of energy and buzz, the city is growing fast. Yet it still has that laid-back feelinglike nothing is so urgent you can't sit down under the trees with a cold beverage and just work it all out."
Austin: No Limits
The Kansas City Star (May 21, 2006)
"Still, it's not hard to find pockets of the old Austin, the place that made it such a joy to visit. The restaurants and bars along Sixth Street downtown are still crowded after dark. Threadgill's still serves a mean chicken-fried steak. And thousands of bats still darken the sky as they come out from under the Congress Avenue Bridge each evening."

The Seven Wonders of the World-Music
The Globe and Mail (Toronto, ON) (April 22, 2006)
"With a true Texas disdain for false modesty, Austin has registered a trademark on the phrase, 'Live Music Capital of the World.'...This is the spiritual home home of the outlaw tendency in American roots music, characterized by Willie Nelson and Townes van Zandt, who lived here."
