Convention & Visitors Bureau Releases New CD
With more than 150 live music venues and nearly 1,900 musical acts in residence, great live music can be heard in Austin 365 days a year.
To showcase this talent, the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau produces compact discs featuring Austin musicians. The newest compilation, "Austin Music, Vol. 5," premiered last week with CD release parties at the Austin Visitor Center and Lucky Lounge.
Produced by the Music Office of the Austin CVB, the CD represents many different types of music and features artists such as Eliza Gilkyson, Alejandro Escovedo, Seth Walker and Miss Lavelle White.
The CVB uses the music discs as a primary promotional tool to attract clients and media to Austin. A limited supply of "Austin Music" is available at the Visitor Center for $9.99. While supplies last, businesses wanting to buy large quantities can purchase the CD for $6. Contact the Austin CVB Convention Services Department at (512) 583-7223 to place an order.
