Austin Film Office Launches Industry Discount Program

The Austin Film Office, in partnership with the City of Austin, plans to launch a film industry discount card program on the heels of the 14th annual Austin Film Festival , which runs Oct. 11-18. This year's festival features more than 100 screenings alongside workshops and panel discussions with such industry legends and executives as director Oliver Stone and writer Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Munich).

The discount program is available to qualified film and television producers, cast, crew and other media on location in Austin. Using a card valid through the duration of the project, film industry professionals can receive discounts at participating "film-friendly" businesses, signaled by an "Austin Now Playing" decal placed in the window or on the storefront. Participating businesses will be listed at www.austintexas.org/film.
