Four Seasons Austin Scores "Three-peat" in Batini Contest
Austin CVB and Tito's Handmade Vodka hosted the third annual "Batini: The Official Drink of Austin" contest during Austin BatFest. Festival attendees crowded around the stage for a view of entertaining martini-making presentations and commentary by local food and wine industry judges. For the third year in a row, the Four Seasons Austin Hotel emerged victorious among bartenders from competing hotels that included the Hilton Austin, Hyatt Regency Austin, The Driskill and Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin.
The annual competition is designed to call attention to two Austin originals: Tito's Handmade Vodka and the flight of the Congress Avenue Bridge bats. The winning "Batini Black" is a combination of Tito's Handmade Vodka, blue curacao, blackberries and grapefruit. It is available exclusively at the Four Seasons Lobby Bar.

Sports Center
Continental (August 2006)
"With 206 parks, 74 miles of trails, 72 athletic fields, and one national championship football team, Austin owns the highlight reel...Austin will always bleed burnt orange...but on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, where old traditions blend seamlessly with a hip, 21st century aesthetic, Austin's sporting roots spread far beyond the confines of campus."
Austin's Powers
New Zealand Woman's Weekly (August 7, 2006)
"The city is thriving as a film and TV production centre, with its own professional ballet, symphony, opera and theatre companies, more than 20 museums and dozens of galleries. But Austin's biggest attraction is its eclecticism. It has everything from wild blues in the bars to wild bluebonnets swaying in the breeze on the shores of the many lakes within an easy drive from downtown."
Top 10 US Tri-towns
Triathlete (September 2006)
"#7: Austin, TX: Hit this town when the sun goes down. The live music competes with the best of 'em. The local brew ain't bad either...Bike lanes make getting from downtown to the outskirts easy. The Greenbelt is best for trail running. The hike-and-bike trail around Town Lake offers 10-, seven-, five-, four- and three-mile loops, mostly on soft dirt."
The Friendly Neighborhood Grill You've Never Heard of...Until Now
American Way (August 1, 2006)
"Austin, Texas: Las Manitas Avenue Cafe. When it's up to me, I almost always go for the Mexican comfort food- and so does the rest of eclectic Austin (think suited power brokers and bleary-eyed musicians). Loaded with Latino art and vintage booths, Las Manitas is great for that morning wake-up call."
