WHERE TO DINE IN AUSTIN: SPOTLIGHT ON SEARSUCKER

Searsucker Lounge 2

Celebrity Chef Brian Malarkey is generating culinary buzz with his fabric-inspired Warehouse District restaurant, Searsucker. Top Chef alumni and former judge on ABC's hit show "The Taste," Malarkey keeps the ambiance relaxed and inviting with cushy dining room sofas and U-shaped booths for a genuine social dining experience.

Similar to his San Diego restaurant locations, Searsucker maintains Malarkey's emphasis on approachable and unpretentious food. Playful lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch menus tease themes of vintage Americana and the American west, as Searsucker chefs put specialized twists on signature New American Classic cuisine.

Select enticing dishes from Malarkey's "Ocean," "Ranch" and "Farm" categories and pair intriguing courses with handcrafted cocktails, craft beer and wines from around the world. Searsucker dinner favorites include the "pork ‘butt' + apple + whiskey + bacon" and the "shrimp ‘spicy' + cheddar bacon grits."

Family-style, sharable plates are also available under the "Smalls" section of the menu. Split an order of duck fat fries with house ketchup and prosciutto dust or try the brie triple cream with huckleberry jam.

Lunch guests rave about the "Dipp – braised beef + aged cheddar + horseradish cream + ciabatta." Sunday brunch is a linger-worthy session surrounding pecan sticky buns; ham, avocado and chipotle benedicts; and $2 mimosas and $4 Bloody Mary's. Don't miss Malarkey's take on green eggs and ham (pictured below), built with nestled eggs, herbs and pork belly on brioche.
