For the young and young at heart, the Austin Duck Adventures Duck Tour is sure to quack you up!I recently had the pleasure of taking the tour with a 2 year old, 7 year old and someone around 60 (love you mom!) and all of us had a great time! Fair warning - all passengers are supplied with duck-bill kazoos, and all of the kids on board get to keep them. And bring them home. And re-use them for days! The tour guide was so much fun and shared a combination of Austin facts, statistics, and trivia while entertaining our group with songs and dances. The tour lasts a little over an hour and departs from and returns to the Austin Visitor Center. The tour gives a quick overview of downtown Austin, and you will get to see Lake Austin like never before-- from inside a bus! The amphibious Hydra Terra vehicle accelerates off of Lake Austin Boulevard and splashes down seamlessly into the lake itself- but dont worry, you won't get wet. The bus has been deemed unsinkable by the US Coast Guard, and if you go early and its not too crowded on the lake, the captain will even let the young kids steer the boat a little and take photos from the captains seat. After you chug around the lake for a while, the bus drives right back onto the street and the tour continues. I would highly recommend the duck tour for visitors and locals who want a fun and unique way to see the city of Austin. Dont be a lame duck- try it out! Be sure to check the website for schedules, pricing and for making reservations.
