Looking to experience the arts and crafts scene in Austin, but don't know where to begin? Get started early with your holiday shopping while in Austin, and check out the 14th annual Blue Genie Art Bazaar! I love visiting this event each year to buy some of my favorite Austin-only gifts and seeing how this venue space is converted for the season.
Located at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre, this bazaar features unique and original pieces ranging from high-end art to fun and quirky items that support local artists and also the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All gifts and items at Blue Genie are carefully selected by event curators, and more than 200 artisans are featured this year through their paintings, photography, prints, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks, ceramics, and all other custom gifts. Grab a snack and sip on some holiday cider while you explore the bazaar space! The Blue Genie Art Bazaar is open daily November 28-December 24 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. (with the exception of December 24). There are plenty of local parking spaces, bike racks, and local transportation including the SW-Highland Mall/Middle Fiskville CapMetro bus stop. Be sure to also take a look at the event calendar for signature Austin Film Society Film Screenings, and other kid-friendly holiday fun.
