USA CYCLING CYCLO-CROSS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

January 7-11, 2015usa cycling logo

Rock. And roll. Next January, you can do both as the 2015 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships heads to the Live Music Capital of the World®. Ranked among the top bicycling cities by Forbes Traveler, and serving up some 300 days of sunshine annually, Austin serves as a world-class venue with an outdoors and cycling culture that rivals the best of any serious U.S. cycling destination.

Developed in Europe in the early 1900's, this short-course specialty race demands skillful bike handling - challenging the best of USA Cycling Cyclo-cross competitors with technical trails, hills, mud and man-made obstacles. From elite to collegiate, competitors will mount, dismount, climb and sprint over the course of four days for the coveted stars and stripes jersey and National Championship title.

Over 1,800 athletes are anticipated to compete in Austin's beloved Zilker Park located in the heart of the city. Featuring over 350 acres, Zilker Park was home to the 1978 CX National Championships, and now serves up signature events like Austin City Limits Music Festival - not to mention year-round activities like canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding and miles of hike and bike trails. Come January, Zilker Park will be transformed into a challenging, spectator friendly course.

Whether you're here to race or simply support, after the excitement, take a quick pedi-cab ride downtown to experience Austin's renowned entertainment districts for live music (naturally), one-of-a-kind food trailers and "Keep Austin Weird" culture.
