    About

The Downtown Austin Alliance announces the debut of VIBE Weekend, a new two-day experience celebrating the stories of Austin through immersive music, art, and culture. Happening September 19–20, 2025, on the historic 500 block of Old Sixth Street, the event is free and open to the public, with live performances, art installations, and creative experiences for all ages. Featured artists and creators will be announced in July.

Envisioned as an annual event, VIBE reflects the Downtown Austin Alliance’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, sustainable, and culturally rich environment that enhances the vitality of downtown for all. Raasin McIntosh, Vice President of Active Urbanism at the Downtown Austin Alliance, says the weekend aims to celebrate what makes Austin unique while building long-term value and opportunity through the arts.

The program includes $30,000 in commissions to local artists and creatives who will shape the festival’s programming. Developed over the past year through community input sessions led by Future Front Texas, a 501(c)(3) arts and culture organization, VIBE was created in response to local feedback and cultural insight. More than just a weekend celebration, it is designed to support economic prosperity through supporting local arts, culture, and community development. The artists and creators who will be activating the spaces will be announced in mid-July via press release and a series of videos on Downtown Austin Alliance platforms.
