Mexic-Arte Museum is thrilled to announce its 34th annual Viva La Vida Festival and Parade will take place on October 28, 2017 in downtown Austin! Viva La Vida is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, and one of the few in the country with a parade. With over 10,000 attendees in 2016, we envision the 2017 festival to be our largest and most popular Viva La Vida yet! The festival features a Grand Procession, the Education Pavilion with hands-on art activities and artist demos, and a celebration with traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music and performances throughout the day.
Stay tuned in the following months as we continue to announce related programming and other ways you can participate in this iconic even!
