Brazilian artist Paula Maya is the 2024 Global Music Awards Silver Medal Winner in the category Best Instrumentalist. She's from Rio de Janeiro's South Zone, the birthplace of Bossa Nova. On Jan 24th her monthly 1 hour set residency at the renowned Sahara Lounge will be celebrating the birthday of one of the world's most influential composers of all time, Antonio Carlos 'Tom' Jobim!
Her renditions of classics of the Bossa Nova repertoire and originals, and her great band diving into deep improvisations make this night a must! Her critically acclaimed new release Rio de Janeiro can be found on all major digital platforms and at live shows, where you can get a physical copy! With Masumi Jones on drums and Angel Roman on bass.
