AUSTIN, TX – Last season the Austin Symphony Children’s Day Art Park (CDAP) hit the refresh button and updated its popular summer series. One of the major changes was the new location, moving from the amphitheatre at Symphony Square to the Austin Central Library. Due to its success, the new location will continue to host this offering, keeping families cool during the summer heat. Fun activities and musical guests are lined up as part of the experience along with the Master of Ceremonies, Bernadette Nason. Come experience the magic for yourself because summer in Austin means CDAP!

Join in discovering the wonder and excitement that the performing arts can bring when you attend CDAP, an Austin tradition for over 40 years! Before the featured performance, kids can visit the Instrument Zoo to see, touch and play real orchestral instruments. At 10:30 a.m. performances especially geared for young children are presented on stage by some of Austin’s most-loved entertainers, hosted by Austin favorite, Bernadette Nason. After the mini-concert, attendees can enjoy interactive stations, instrument making, rotating arts and crafts such as mask making and other fun pursuits, coloring and story time with Bernadette Nason.

Friday, June 21 - “Mole Music” with String Quartet (Gustavo “Gus” Garcia Recreation Center, 7 p.m.) “Mole Music” will be read in Spanish and English. An outdoor movie, as part of the Gus Garcia Recreation Center’s “Movies in the Park” series, will follow at approx. 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 25 – “Hansel and Gretel” with Woodwind Quintet (Old Quarry Branch, 2 p.m.)
