George Crumb’s Sonata for Solo Cello, Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Trio in E Minor, and Franz Schubert’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major will set the stage for a shadowy evening of haunting nostalgia and evocative sentimentality.
