Beerthoven's annual holiday tradition returns featuring the Tinsel Singers on the front steps of the Neill-Cochran House Museum for a concert of carols, cocoa, and cold beer.
Beerthoven is proud to partner once again with the Tinsel Singers! Tinsel is not your average group of Christmas carolers. Within Tinsel's roster of professional singers are Grammy®-winners and classically-trained vocalists, entertaining audiences with style and distinction. From classical to contemporary, Tinsel arrangements of holiday favorites are bright and innovative, while respecting tradition and cherished memories.
While the live music is performed we will be serving hot cocoa as well as warm pastries and cold beer generously provided by Easy Tiger and Lazarus Brewing--at no additional cost! All attendees will also be allowed one free visit to the Neill-Cochran House Museum's exhibits (voucher to be used at a different time than that of the performance, as the performance takes place after museum hours). No need to bring chairs; we'll have everything set up so come as you are!
For half an hour prior to the performance on Sunday the 10th, guests will enjoy the feats and wizardry of Dylan Love, performing magic that will amaze and delight.
Beerthoven events are family-friendly; kids are welcome! Student tickets are available for $10 at the door. To purchase student tickets in advance of the concert, email email@example.com with your request. Dating back to 1856, the Neill-Cochran House is one of the ten oldest buildings in Austin. Its columned, Greek facade and rough, brick exterior is an historic and ideal setting for Beerthoven's mix of refinement and approachability. This project has been financed in whole or in part by the City of Austin’s Elevate Grant Program.
Inclement Weather Alternate:
In the event of freezing weather, we will move the event indoors. Seating is limited in this scenario so, in the event that we are over capacity, we will reserve tickets for the first 60 guests who ordered tickets; all others will be offered a refund.
Limited parking will be available for free on-site in Neill-Cochran House's own lot, accessible via 23rd street in between Leon and San Gabriel. Additional parking can be found on street and at the Quarters Parking Garage in West Campus: 700-898 W 22 1/2 St, Austin, TX 78705
The Beerthoven Concert Series is a down-to-earth, approachable celebration of classical song and chamber music; a quirky mixture of Oktoberfest and Bach Fest, presented in a unique and intimate setting. Beerthoven finds its inspiration from the musical and festive events at the Austin Saengerrunde as well as the private "salon" concerts of Beethoven's own time. There is no backstage area here; audience members may even find themselves standing in line for beer with the performers. Beerthoven Inc is a 501c3 non-profit and a Sponsored Project of the Austin Creative Alliance. Beerthoven is made possible through the support of the Austin Saengerrunde and individual benefactors.View Map
