    About Cara Jackson
Cara Jackson is an Austin-based artist and graphic designer with a passion for outdoor adventure. She finds inspiration for her work on road and camping trips and can regularly be found hiking Austin’s greenbelts.

Cara’s passion for art and nature started at a young age, inspired by the beauty of the mountains and coast of her home state, North Carolina. Cara followed her passions to Appalachian State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and in 2007 moved to Austin to pursue a career as a graphic designer. While working for local companies like The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Whole Foods Market, Cara continued to paint as a hobby. Over time, her style shifted, becoming as bright and elegant as her design work. By 2017, She’d found her artistic style and decided to pursue fine art full-time. Since then, Cara has combined her love of nature and art through a growing series of paintings inspired by the landscapes, plants, and animals she discovers in our public parks.
