New Orleans, LA, Release: September 24, 2024. For Immediate Release. On Saturday, October 26th, LSD Clownsystem will take the stage at Mohawk in Austin, TX. America’s premier all-clown LCD Soundsystem cover band will pitch their big top circus, with opening support from fellow New Orleans mischief makers, Letrainiump and Hiatt dB.
The band is a collective of eight musicians and artists whose commitment to the bit is both evident and contagious- from their psychedelic carnival inspired costumes and makeup to their outrageous stage antics. The key element in turning this scrappy, diy, warehouse party outfit into their current massive party machine incarnation has been crowd participation. Shows are known for their immersive performance art spectacle, increasingly blurring the line between audience and performers. Biannual Mardi Gras and Halloween shows bring hoards of attendees in full clown regalia with equal amount of schtick and pageantry as the band. Local shows have grown to include sub themes, such as the Big Top Ball, 20,000 Clowns Under the Sea, a rodeo, a game show, a fully functional Clown Town, and When are Yr Friends Tonite?- A Time Travel Adventure (replete with a life-sized clown car time machine).
