About
The Loren Hotel Austin is thrilled to announce the return of Milk Bar, the brainchild of James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi, to the Cafe. Since The Loren’s Cafe Collaboration Series began last December, the Cafe has welcomed 12 acclaimed bakeries and dessert shops from around the country to the Austin market, including James Beard Award-nominated La Casita Bakeshop, local favorite Lick Honest Ice Cream, Virginia’s Two and a Half Irishmen, South Carolina’s Annie Mae’s and more.
Starting Dec. 1, Milk Bar will offer its Confetti, Compost, Corn and Blueberry Cookies; the best-selling Birthday Cake, inspired by boxed vanilla funfetti; its signature Milk Bar Pie, with a sticky, buttery, salty-sweet filling in a hearty oat-cookie crust; decadent Chocolate Birthday Cake; fan-favorite Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake; and Birthday, Chocolate Birthday and Red Velvet Cake Truffles.
Milk Bar opened its doors in New York’s East Village in 2008 and grew a loyal fanbase with its unique, sweet and flavorful treats. Tosi is known for combining her formal culinary training and her informal obsession with home baking, grocery store staples and classic American sweets. With mentions in Fast Company and The New York Times and dubbed as “one of the most exciting bakeries in the country” by Bon Appétit, Milk Bar has grown to six locations across New York, along with locations in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas.
A portion of the proceeds will go to support the Loren Roots Imperative, a nonprofit created to help offset the carbon footprint of development. To learn more, visit thelorenhotels.com/roots.View Map
