    Throughout the centuries, Europe endured and rebounded from a number of plagues which ravaged the continent. During these trying times, composers wrote music which soothed the soul during the crisis and lifted the spirits as the world emerged once again into a time of health and prosperity. Ensemble VIII explores music by Tallis, Cooke, Lechner, and Sheppard which were all composed as commentary during the time of a pandemic.
