    The festival celebrates the culture of Japan. The family-friendly event features Japanese food and drink, kids' activities, cultural education and more. The celebration will include music, including JPOP, Japanese drumming by Austin Taiko, sumo, kendo martial arts, a tea ceremony, a doing business in Japan seminar, an artisan and festival marketplace and a silent auction.

    Doors open at 11 a.m. and the silent auction begins at 11 a.m. Performances begin at 12 p.m.

    The annual festival is hosted by the Austin-Oita Sister City Committee. AOSCC’s mission is to promote and heighten public interest in and appreciation of the culture, people, languages, businesses, and products between the City of Austin and Oita, Japan. Oita, one of Austin’s 14 Sister Cities, has been a Sister City to Austin since 1990.
