Salvador Dali is returning to The VORTEX for One Night Only, Saturday, October 20, 2018. This is The VORTEX’s big annual fundraiser, and The VORTEX artists are pulling out all the stops to create a gigantic extravaganza that will delight all of your senses and raise funds for our 2018-19 programming. Bring on your surreal as we enter Dali’s universe with a performance installation cocktail party evoking and embodying his aesthetic and artistry.
The performance installation fundraiser includes delicious food art on naked platters, live music, tango, aerials, burlesque, human canvas, live painting, large silent auction, Instagram contest, Dali’s original Casanova Cocktail, and decadent desserts.
Yes, Dali’s Naked Feast is an opportunity to graze from elegantly designed food art on beautiful naked bodies. Artistic hors d’oeuvres are designed with the culinary magic of our favorite chefs, Nic Patrizi and Lindsey Rock, feature vegan, meat, gluten-free, and dessert options. The Butterfly Bar serves up the Casanova Cocktail from Dali’s very own recipe. Salvador Dali himself will be in attendance. Music by Djamberry Caravan. We know that you will want to catch Ann Marie Gordon (VORTEX’s award-winning scenic designer) as the Ant Eater painting large ants. Toni Bravo dances the Tango with Dali. Betsy McCann Bromley reprises her role as Gala, Dali’s wife. Michelle Haché sings Italian art songs. Bethany Summersizzle caps off the night with her daring aerials. Amber Quick winds down the evening with sultry jazz standards.
The large Silent Auction includes beautiful, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted arts, dinners from local business partners, and professional services. VORTEX Unlimited passes will be available, and all new membership options will be available.
