Welcome to the first ever Sama Sama Art Festival! As Asian-American artists that have grown up in the South, we feel like the unique intersectionality of Southern and Asian-American culture has shaped our music into something distinct to our niche. We realized that while Asian-American communities on the East and West coast have well-known subcultures, distinct sounds, and popular artists, not many people can point to Asian-American artists from the Southern United States.
We hope that the Sama Sama art festival will end up playing a role in highlighting creatives of all kinds; musicians, dancers, visual artists and craftspeople, of the Asian-American diaspora throughout the Southern States.
