Each October, the Texas Historical Commission (THC) celebrates Texas Archeology Month (TAM), an opportunity for Texans to understand the depth and richness of our heritage through the lens of archeology. Across the state, archeologists use this month to highlight the valuable information that investigations have produced. The THC coordinates the statewide celebration and encourages partners in archeology and historic preservation to organize TAM events and programming. The Texas Historical Commission is hosting a public Archeology Fair to celebrate Texas Archeology Month! The fair will feature hands-on activities for kids and adults, demonstrations from experimental archaeologists, and exhibits that highlight Texas’ rich archeological history. Bring your family, scout troop, and friends of all ages to learn about archeology from local professionals. All are welcome!
