    About

From March 1 to May 10, Food! Food! in Tarrytown is displaying Austinite Laura P. Wright's paintings of Texas native birds and other local wildlife for sale.

Texas boasts more than half the bird species found in the entire United States, and Laura Perkins Wright travels the state to capture them in photographs and paint them at her studio in Austin. From the majestic Great Blue Heron and chatty Cedar Waxwing to the feisty little Tufted Titmouse, their beauty is captured in acrylics as they court one another, feed their young, forage and fly.

Laura Perkins Wright is an Austin artist specializing in naturalist paintings of mammals, insects and plants, primarily those of the surrounding Hill Country. Relying on her own photographs and those of talented friends, she works in acrylics and cherishes her time discovering minute details of the world around her through art. Laura's portfolio can be found at laurawright.portfoliobox.net
