The 7th annual, 3K Walk for Sickle Cell in Austin, hosted by the Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation, will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 9 am in Rosewood Park, Austin, Texas. This annual event raises funds to help Texas families affected by sickle cell disease by helping to send children to Camp Cell-A-Bration, a free camp for children ages six to 14 with sickle cell disease.
The walk will also feature an indoor exposition inside Doris Miller Auditorium offering the community resources from local vendors, activities for children, and free sickle cell trait testing. On-site registration starts at 8:00 am with the walk scheduled to start at 9:00 am, rain or shine. The tax-deductible pre-registration fee is $25 for adult participants. Those who pre-register are guaranteed an official walk t-shirt. After the walk, all walk participants and supporters are invited back to the auditorium for raffle giveaways and award ceremony.
