About
Texas Science & Natural History Museum tells the story of life in the natural world in Texas, from the formation of our planet through the age of the dinosaurs into our current environment, and showcases advanced research from UT Austin that is making a positive impact on life in the future.
Learn about life in Texas 67 million years ago—when dinosaurs and other reptiles dominated the Earth—and walk beneath the 33-foot wingspan of a pterosaur and tyrannosaur! Explore an overview of 600+ million years of life with stunning imagery, newly exhibited fossils, and a paleogeographic time-lapse providing context for Texas’ shifting geological and environmental identity.
The museum’s Paleontology Gallery houses a wide variety of fossils, including the 30-foot Onion Creek Mosasaur and a glyptodont. Find fascinating rock, mineral, and meteorite specimens in the Geology Gallery. The legacy diorama displays in the Texas Wildlife Gallery showcase the diverse animals and ecosystems of Texas.
