Inn Cahoots is an incredibly versatile venue that spans almost a full city block with six different space concepts that are fully customizable. Mix and match to craft your perfect event with indoor and outdoor meeting areas, multiple bars and various stage configurations. New to the area, Assembly Hall is an elegant event venue with industrial influences ready to be tailored to fit a variety of event types. The venue boasts a large main hall, meeting room and a private courtyard. Fair Market is a Quonset hut-style building that provides a blank slate for almost any type of event while still maintaining that unique Austin feel. In addition to the expansive indoor space, larger events might take advantage of Austin’s year-round temperate weather and spill out onto the large outdoor garden space.

Originally constructed as Austin’s first German beer importer, Distribution Hall is a restored mid-century structure. The venue features large warehouse spaces and an outdoor garden space. For an authentically Austin experience, the Historic Scoot Inn is the oldest continuously running beer joint in Central Texas. The venue features an intimate indoor bar as well as a spacious patio biergarten with a large stage. Once a train station, Springdale Station is an urban event center with clean and modern event space just north of the Colorado River.

East Austin boasts a rich historical and cultural arts scene that is sure to enrich meeting and conference experiences. An integral part of this is the Six Square African American Historic District, the community-led group actively promotes this part of Austin’s history through preservation, walking tours and community events and exhibits. Included in this district is the George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center. This museum features four main galleries celebrating African American heritage and the contributions of this community in Texas and beyond. Other attractions like Holey Moley, offer attendees an opportunity to engage in a bit of friendly competition. The space features three unique mini-golf courses and multiple bars with over-the-top cocktails.

Things to Do

A hub for nightlife in East Austin, East Sixth Street includes nearly a mile-long stretch of bars, live music venues and restaurants. Rock out to punk and alternative musicians nearly every night of the week at Hotel Vegas and its sister lounge, The Volstead. Or, experience a true Texas honky tonk with a trip to The White Horse for two-stepping and local western bands at this iconic juke joint. Try a variety of local brews at one of the many breweries in East Austin. Lazarus Brewing and Central Machine Works both feature large indoor and outdoor spaces available for hosting events. 

Austin’s culinary scene is incredibly diverse showcasing a range of cuisines from casual eateries to fine dining establishments, and East Austin is no exception. Dine in a laundromat turned chic cafe serving gourmet New American fare at Launderette, or try new-age Caribbean dishes and the award-winning Canje. At women-owned la Barbecue you’ll find tender beef, pork, turkey and sausage all expertly smoked, or join the line out the door at iconic Franklin Barbecue for a sample of their famed brisket. Austin’s famous for its tacos so try Nixta Taqueria for a modern take on tacos featuring ancient nixtamal tortillas, Juan in a Million for old-school breakfast tacos and Cuantos Tacos food truck for bite-sized street tacos.
