Popular Local Genres and Venues
Texas Dancehall
Austin's Broken Spoke was built in 1964 and still has live music Tuesday through Saturday. The White Horse can help you channel your honkytonk soul, and Little Longhorn Saloon is a great destination for cold beers and old country tunes.

Rock ‘n RollRock n Roll
The Mohawk rocks two stages, a rooftop and multiple bars. They host great local bands on weeknights and some of the biggest names in the industry throughout the year. Just across the street, Stubb's Bar-B-Q is a favorite for its indoor stage hosting local acts and indie touring groups. And their gospel brunches are legendary.

Jazz & Blues
Guests will love sidling up to the bar at Austin's acclaimed basement jazz bar, theElephant Room. This dimly lit gem is home to many a jazz jam band. King Bee Lounge is serving up those down and dirty blues, house-made pizzas and crafty cocktails. Brass House's swanky vibe plays backdrop to jazz vocalists, bold brass bands and gritty jazz trios.

Americana
Attendees can find folksy fun at The Continental Club or the Continental Gallery on South Congress. Every day, their happy hour, evening and late-night hours features different local musicians. Saxon Pub is an Austin institution and there's not a bad seat in the house to catch Americana bands and locally celebrated acts.

Indie Rock
Hotel Vegas, the VolsteadGypsy Lounge and Holy Mountain are the most likely suspects for top-billed indie concerts. Austin musicians of all ages and skill levels grace these stages with indie tunes.
