Sandy Creek Park will be closed for safety starting 6pm Sunday, April 7, 2024. The gates and park will be reopened 7am Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Lake Water Quality
The LCRA and Travis County Parks continue to strongly encourage people to avoid contact with alga and to keep their dogs from ingesting or playing in algae in Lake Travis or Lake Austin. Click on "Lake Water Quailty" to visit LCRA website for more information.
Camping Suspended
Due to continuous construction in the area to complete the BCRUA water project, Sandy Creek Park will be limiting park use to DAY USE activities ONLY. Camping opportunities suspended late 2022, ETA to resume late 2026.

Camping
Camping has been temporarily suspended for the length of neighboring construction of the BCRUA Raw Water Delivery System (BCRUA Water Project).
Zebra Mussels
Zebra Mussels have been found along the shoreline of our lake parks. Swimmers and others seeking water-based recreation should exercise caution when in or near the water.

About
Sandy Creek Park is located on one of the quieter coves of Lake Travis, in the scenic Hill Country of central Texas. This 92-acre park is an ideal spot for swimming, nature walks, birding, and fishing. Boaters will appreciate the park's easy accessibility to the basin area of Lake Travis, as well as its close proximity to Austin. At the same time this park offers a serene, wooded environment away from the heavier boat traffic found on other sections of the lake. Sandy Creek is home to several rare bird and plant species, including the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler. A hike along the wooded bluff and shoreline provides a good view of the lake.
