Celebrate Small Business Season with Visit Austin

Austin, TX (December 8, 2020) - Visit Austin launched a new campaign - Small Business Season - designed to support our Austin gems by urging consumers to make small businesses the first stop for in-store and online purchases during the month of December.

Visit Austin created an online destination for small business resources, highlighting  hometown goods and experiences that visitors and locals can enjoy now or in the future. The Small Business Season online guide (visitaustin.org/shopping) features more than 300 businesses throughout the city. Get holiday inspiration from bike shops and outdoor retailers, bookstores, apparel and gift boutiques, culinary shops, farmers markets, and record stores. You can also check out the Austin Visitor Center online (austingiftshop.org) to shop a curated mix of regional delights. Austin businesses are offering in-store, online, and curbside shopping options for your convenience and safety.

“Visit Austin recognizes that small businesses are at the heart of our community and a big part of what makes Austin such a special place to visit and call home. Small businesses make our neighborhoods more vibrant, and they are essential in keeping our city’s culture alive,” said Tom Noonan, President and CEO of Visit Austin. “We are charged with promoting everything there is to love about our city, and we are excited to provide inspiration and access to goods and experiences to our community and Austin fans around the globe,” added Noonan.

Join us by celebrating Small Business Season throughout the month of December and beyond. Give the gift of experience this year with a walking street art excursion from a tour company. Treat yourself to hand crafted jewelry designed by a master artist. Buy tickets to a holiday light show for you and your family. Present your favorite person a bottle (or two) of spirits from a local distillery. Surprise your roommate with an aromatic bag of coffee beans from your favorite coffee shop. Or send a charcuterie board hand-selected with love from a cheese merchant to your family and friends. Whatever it is, make it unique and make it local.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who made a purchase from us this year, has plans to include us in your festivities this season, has shared a post, told a friend, read a newsletter, and otherwise just supported our team with a kind smile. We are here because of you, our amazing team who has been working tirelessly under challenging circumstances, and the passionate and talented producers we represent.” - Kendall Antonelli, President, Co-Owner/Founder, Antonelli's Cheese Shop
