Child Inc, founded in 1972, is a nonprofit organization providing low-income families with comprehensive early childhood education, mental health services, disabilities services, nutritional services, medical and dental services, social services and parent engagement activities. Child Inc Early Head Start and Head Start Centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals. NAEYC defines the gold standard for early childhood education and care. Schools who wish to be accredited by NAEYC undergo intense review. Only the best are awarded NAEYC accreditation. To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Child Inc underwent an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria.
