Each May, in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Asian American Resource Center hosts CelebrASIA. This free, family-friendly festival features local food vendors, exhibits and cultural performances and experiences. Film Fans will want to check out the Indie Meme Film Festival, held each April, which showcases the best of independent South Asian cinema, and the Austin Asian American Film Festival, held in June, which celebrates stories told by Asian and American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) filmmakers. In addition to these annual events, visitors will also find additional seasonal celebrations for holidays, including Lunar New Year, Diwali Festival of Lights and more.
