Thank you for your interest in Austin!

At ACVB, it’s our pleasure to assist members of the press with stories and features about Austin as a meetings and leisure travel destination.

Austin CVB press trip guidelines:
The Austin CVB hosts press trips for qualified journalists with confirmed assignments and needs a minimum of four weeks' advance notice to further facilitate any request.

  • Complimentary stays and industry or media rates are provided at the discretion of the host hotels and are subject to availability.

  • Hosted press stay is 3 days/2 nights. The cost for a longer stay may be passed along to the journalist.

  • ACVB is not able to request complimentary accommodations or amenities with less than 4-6 weeks’ notice of proposed travel.

  • If complimentary accommodations are not available then the ACVB can try to secure a media rate for the journalists. However, the ACVB is not able to cover the cost of accommodations, so the cost will be passed onto/incurred by the journalists.

  • ACVB does not cover air travel to Austin, or ground transportation within Austin.

  • ACVB may not be able to accommodate spouses, children and/or other guests accompanying journalists.

  • ACVB policy prohibits the hosting of journalists if the primary purpose of the trip is leisure or holiday travel. Journalists’ primary reason for travel must be their confirmed press assignment.

  • Meals accompanied by an Austin CVB staff member will be covered, but all visiting press should plan to pay for some portion of their meals during their visit.

For further consideration, please attach the following two items and email them to within 7 days of submitting the below form.

  • Official letter of assignment from the intended publication containing media value, circulation/impressions and intended scope of coverage

  • Documentation confirming minimum total viewership of coverage will be 100,000.
