Austin Food Trucks & Trailers

What started in the early ‘90s as a not-so-humble hot-dog stand has blossomed into a citywide movement. All over town, chefs are eschewing sit-down establishments and serving inexpensive, unpretentious cuisine whipped up in the back of refurbished Airstreams and concession trailers. The trend is so hot officials estimate around 2,000 mobile food vendors are in Austin.

From fresh lobster rolls at Garbo’s to family-style Italian from Patrizi’s, street eats occupy every niche, and there's always a new, delicious, fairly priced meal to discover. Food-court trailer parks are an Austin phenomenon in which multiple trailers cluster to create a dining destination. Check out our Austin Food Truck Catering Guide with Roaming Hunger to find local food trailers for your next event.
