COTA PUTS ENTERTAINMENT INTO OVERDRIVE
Austin's premier motorsports facility features superstar performers, year-round events, professional soccer with Austin Bold FC and plenty more.
Over the last seven years, Circuit of The Americas (COTA) has garnered a reputation as one of the city's leading entertainment hubs, hosting big-name music performers and exciting events year-round. Last year, COTA brought the world’s game to the capital city with Austin Bold FC, a professional soccer team whose home field, Bold Stadium, sits at the center of The Circuit in the Grand Plaza.
Grand Prix Facility
COTA is the only purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the U.S., set on 1,500 acres just outside downtown Austin. At the heart of it all is a 3.4-mile track that was designed to host top racing competitors from around the world. The 20-turn Circuit takes advantage of the rolling landscape, featuring an intimidating 133-foot hill at Turn 1 that has to be seen to be believed.
COTA is home to the only Formula 1 and MotoGP races in the country: the United States Grand Prix and the Grand Prix of The Americas, respectively. 2020 will also see the return of Lone Star Le Mans and the GT World Challenge America.
Teens and adults love COTA Karting, a purpose-built karting track where you can race at speeds up to 55mph and dream of becoming future F1 stars. COTA Karting also allows guests to bring their own kart to race on track, daily or during their seasonal series leagues.
If soccer is your sport, you're in luck. Austin Bold FC brings professional soccer action to the center of COTA. The Bold completed their successful inaugural season in 2019 and are poised to make a run for the USL Championship trophy in 2020. Austin Bold FC plays in the brand new 5,000-seat Bold Stadium, designed with the highest standards for the world’s game.
Since 2017, Winter Wonderland at The Circuit has become a signature holiday tradition for so many people. From skating through the Grand Plaza to watching the dancing lights illuminate the Texas sky, guests young and old have discovered the magic of the holiday season at the event each year.
Cars & Coffee
The monthly Cars & Coffee Austin is a pop-up car show for the whole family. Each event is free for spectators, with a $5 charitable donation if you wish to participate in the show. Guests are able to access the climate controlled Velocity Lounge for a great view of the cars on display or stroll through Vendor Row for food and drinks.
COTA rounds out its entertainment experience with the Germania Insurance Amphitheater, the largest permanent outdoor amphitheater in Central Texas, known for its signature 25-story observation tower. This unique venue has hosted some of the biggest names in music and entertainment, from Texas icons Willie Nelson and the Dixie Chicks to hip-hop chart-toppers Drake and Lil Wayne, plus many more.
