Driver (Part-Time)
Summary of Position & Duties
- Facilitate Visit Austin’s efforts by maintaining and driving site visit vehicle
- One to two days prior to the site inspection, the driver will contact the Staff Project Contact to coordinate details of the visit
- Driver is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is fueled, a Shell gas card is provided with the vehicle and receipts will be submitted to the Finance Coordinator for processing
- Driver must be punctual, and have car cleaned and ready to go to designated pick-up site at least 15 minutes prior to picking up Sales or Services associates
- Driver is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is clean, expenses will be covered by Visit Austin
- Driver will load and unload luggage and open car doors for clients
Qualifications
- Applicant must have strong and genuine hospitality skills
- Must possess pride and passion for promoting Austin to visitors
- Should feel comfortable navigating streets and highways of Austin amongst continual construction
- Remain adaptable to schedule changes

Partner Relations Coordinator
About Visit Austin Foundation
The mission of the Visit Austin Foundation is to develop and promote education, job training and career opportunities within the hospitality, music and tourism community in the greater Austin area. The Foundation is an independent, 501 (c) (3) public charity.
Summary of Position and Duties
- Provide administrative support to members of the Strategic Alliances and Visit Austin Foundation team as directed
- Working with assigned sponsors and partners to manage all applicable deliverables and benefits. Develop fulfillment/tracking spreadsheets
- Maintain partner database to ensure accuracy as well as data entry in the CRM to include updating partner information, in-kind activities and donated services, generating relevant partner activity reports and benefits summaries, and other related CRM activities
- Assist in setting up meetings, developing proposals and partner fulfillment presentations, assist supervisors as necessary in preparation for business travel, provide event support and follow up
- Act as a communication liaison between Visit Austin and the Visit Austin Foundation, partners and related departments/entities affected by the partner relationship
- Develop lasting business relationships with assigned sponsors/partners, demonstrate follow-through, accountability, timely and regular communication to ensure 100% partner retention
- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting as assigned
- Prepare amenities and partner recognition items. Manage departmental amenity inventory
- Attend various meetings and events as deemed necessary by management, to include but not limited to departmental meetings, staff meetings, industry meetings and events, and partner site visits
- Take every opportunity to learn about the hospitality & tourism industry and training opportunities when possible
- Cover front desk/reception area and phones during assigned times
- Represent Visit Austin in a professional manner with both external and internal clients, sponsors and partners and in all settings. Ensure that you are always in compliance with the Personnel Policies & Operations and the Financial Policies & Procedures Manual
- Evening and weekend entertainment and travel when necessary
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned
Key Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- College degree preferred, with emphasis in hospitality, marketing or business or a minimum of two years of related experience working in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
- An excellent and open communicator that is comfortable speaking in front of others. Excellent command of the English language, verbally and in writing. Strong writing skills
- Customer service experience a plus
- Proficiency with Google Suite (google drive), Microsoft Office software systems, Windows applications
- Canva, Adobe, copywriting/copy editing, survey software tools and website development software a plus
- Database management experience helpful
- Excellent research skills
- Experience with corporate contributions and/or non-for-profit solicitation a plus
- Knowledge of Austin attractions and destination offerings
- Ability to work independently but take direction from superiors and seek assistance when needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy, meet deadlines and be responsive to emails and voicemails in a timely manner. Attention to detail a must

Senior Events Manager
Summary of Position and Duties
- Collaborate across Visit Austin departments to define, design, and deliver event experiences that are measurable, meaningful, and meet desired objectives.
- Create new and WOW experiences for Visit Austin meetings and events – push creative boundaries & innovate.
- Maintains timelines and priorities of projects and communicates status to appropriate project owners
- Liaison with marketing department for all events to streamline the requests and communication process
- Responsible for Visit Austin’s trade shows, sales missions, companywide marquis & foundation events
- Responsible for establishing and/or maintaining budgets, including completing and submitting event PO’s
- May travel locally and domestically for sites visits, special projects or for on-site production
- Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Analyze events success and provide post event recap/reports to supervisors (attendance, final expenses, final revenue, donated services, etc.)
- Continual communication between supervisor and project owners as to the status of each event
- Maintain knowledge of service provider partners and event venues, hotels, City of Austin, and the Austin Convention Center
- Assist leadership with special projects and programs as requested
- Performs other projects as assigned
Key Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Solid knowledge of Austin and ability to confidently promote the city
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Experience managing 30+ events per year with growth plan of establishing an events department and managing a team
- Efficient and proven organizational skills; detail oriented
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification is a plus
- Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and event registration technology as well as extensive database management experience
- Reliable, dependable, flexible, and responsive; ability to work outside of normal work schedule as needed/directed

Visitor Center Coordinator (Part-Time)

- Communication with the public in person, by phone & email
- Must work weekends & some holidays.
- Will work under 30 hours per week.

Visitor Center Security Officer (Part-Time)
Summary of Position and Duties
- Responsible for ensuring a safe environment through active patrol, monitoring, and talking with customers.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
- Provide customer service to guests.
- Be able to act as a host and answer questions about the Austin area while monitoring the area.
- Monitor and respond to safety and situations that could present and emergency while communicating effectively.
- Conduct patrols to ensure the safety of guests, vendors, staff, and the property
- Perform loss prevention and loss control duties.
- Respond to disturbances or problems that arise. If necessary, escort disruptive individuals off premises.
- Generate and complete incident reports.
- Have basic computer knowledge.
- Organize and file all documentation electronically.
- Assist in crowd management.
- Enforce company policies & procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or higher education.
- Security or police experience preferred.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- First Aid, CPR, AED certified/experience required.
- Training on de-escalating situations.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Indoor and outdoor working conditions.
- May be exposed to physical confrontations.
- Physical ability to walk around the premises.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently; exercise initiative, resourcefulness and good judgement
- Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary and may include day, weekends, and holidays as event calendar or deadlines dictate.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
